WHERE HISTORY
STILL LIVES...

In the historic suite of the main stone building, dating back to 1862, every stay becomes a journey to another era. Behind the old wooden door, the marble features, authentic floors, and distinctive objects that have survived the passage of time - and have been carefully preserved with exceptional personal dedication and deep respect by the Maragos family - the atmosphere of the original La Belle Hélène of Mycenae still lives on.

This very suite once welcomed remarkable figures from world history—archaeologists, writers, poets, researchers, and travellers who came to Mycenae in search of something remarkable, mysterious, and timeless.

Today, this exceptional suite preserves its authentic character, combining historical details from another era with modern amenities and understated luxury. Like every room in the historic building, it bears the names of people who truly stayed here, offering a unique hospitality experience filled with memory, atmosphere, and history.

Jean Paul Sartre

French philosopher, writer, and leading representative of existentialism, regarded as one of the most influential intellectual figures of the twentieth century.

Dillys Powel

British journalist, travel writer, and distinguished film critic, known for her deep love of Greece and her close connection with Greek archaeology and Mycenae.
